ONLINE COURSE · FOR TEKLA STRUCTURES PROFESSIONALS

Build real Tekla tools with an AI agent – even if you’ve never coded.

The agent writes the C#. You learn to read and verify it – the skill that actually keeps your model safe. Across 15 lessons (≈3.5 hours) you go from a read-only reporter to a packaged, one-click Tekla plugin.

Plain words in, real model changes out YOU SAY THE AGENT WRITES YOUR MODEL “Flag every plate thinner than 6 mm.” foreach (Part p in selected) if (p.GetThickness() < 6.0) p.SetUserProperty(“REVIEW”, 1); grounded by the included Tekla skill — not guessed 2 flagged · 3 left alone Nothing reaches your model until you have read it.

WHAT YOU'RE REALLY LEARNING

A method for driving an AI coding agent - proven on the hardest API you'll meet.

This is not a programming course. It's a course on how to drive an AI coding agent (Claude - 20$/month - in VS Code) against a hostile, badly-documented production API - and stay in charge of it. The agent writes the C#; you learn to read and verify it.

Tekla's Open API is the proving ground because it raises the stakes: your code writes to a real building model. Written for a Tekla professional - detailer, engineer, fabricator - not a programmer.

You came for Tekla, but you leave with a method for driving an AI agent against any domain API.

How it actually works doesn’t hold up → tighten the prompt 01 · YOU You ask Plain words, no syntax. plain words 02 · THE AGENT It writes the C# Every line, in seconds. readable C# 03 · YOU AGAIN You verify The step that keeps a real model safe. on your OK 04 · YOUR MODEL It runs Beams, plates, bolts — then a .tsep. grounds every call it writes INCLUDED · WATERMARKED TO YOU The curated Tekla skill What the agent reads before it writes a line. API reference every class, every trap Working samples drop-in, already tested Project scaffolding set up for your version
You brief the agent in plain words; the curated skill grounds every call it writes; nothing reaches your model until you have read it.

One skill per lesson. One working tool you keep, every time.

The artifacts ramp read → write → create → connect → extend → ship, so your capability and your control over the agent grow together.

The twelve core lessons, and the tool each one leaves you with.
#What you'll be able to doBuilt on (the real tool)
4Read code you didn't write - never treat the agent as a black boxA Selection Reporter - profile, material, length, weight of any selection
5Verify against ground truth - and build on the tool you already trustA Quantity Take-Off to CSV, grouped by profile and material, cross-checked against Tekla's own report
6Prompt with constraints & catch silent failure - a wrong Tekla write doesn't crash, it says "done" and changes nothingModel modification - UDA vs. real property, and the Modify() trap that fools every beginner
7Work in slices - one verified slice first, never the whole tool in one shotNew objects - a beam and a contour plate, in millimetres, on the right work plane
8Encode your trade rules in the prompt - the agent won't assume themBolts & welds - the picker, bolt arrays, primary/secondary part roles
9Make the agent reuse what exists - not reinvent itComponent insertion - driving a built-in connection by number and name
10Scale past one file - manage a real project with an agentFrom macro to project - the jump from a single .cs to a real solution and build
11Split a big idea into steps - plan with the agent instead of one-shotting itA WPF warehouse - a parametric portal-frame building driven from a real dialog
12Extend Tekla itself - put your own logic where Tekla already looksA custom property - reinforcement ratio, live in reports, templates and filters
13Work on code you can't just re-run - the technique for iterating on a locked plug-inYour first plugin - a parametric straight ladder with real input points and parameters
14Recover when it breaks - see the runtime values the agent never canDebugging - breakpoints, the live values, and the silent-no-op checklist
15Ship it - where "compiled" ≠ "installed"A one-click .tsep installer - your tool, packaged the way Tekla expects

WHAT YOU KEEP

Plus - the curated Tekla skill itself.

The same reference library and drop-in helpers that make the agent stop guessing - model sweeps, type-safe UDA and report-property readers, project scaffolding. Watermarked to you and yours to keep.

YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Built by someone who ships Tekla tools for a living.

Greg Olszewski, the course instructor

I'm Greg Olszewski - engineer, software developer and educator in the construction industry. My day-to-day work is process automation across the AEC ecosystem, and my open-source Tekla tools are how I test everything I teach - you can inspect the code before you trust me with a single euro.

This course exists because I kept watching capable Tekla professionals bounce off the Open API's learning curve - and then watched an AI agent, handed the right reference material, dissolve that curve. Teaching that method properly is the most useful thing I know how to do.

QUESTIONS

Answers before you ask.

Do I need to be a programmer?

No. The AI agent writes the C# - you learn to read and verify it, which is the skill that actually keeps your model safe. We build real tools in plain language first, code second.

Which Tekla Structures version do I need?

Any reasonably recent one. The course is recorded on Tekla Structures 2025 and works out of the box on Tekla 2021 or newer. Older versions (2020 and earlier) are supported too - the API is the same, they just install a different package, and the included skill knows the difference and sets your project up for your exact version. The environment-setup lesson covers it.

What software do I need besides Tekla?

VS Code with Claude Pro 20$/month (an AI coding agent) and a Tekla Structures license. The environment-setup lesson walks through everything from zero.

What exactly do I keep after the course?

Every tool we build (as working code), the complete curated Tekla skill - the reference library that stops the agent guessing - watermarked to you, and lifetime access to all lessons. Founding members also get every future update free.

What if it's not for me?

Find out for free: three full lessons - not trailers - are on YouTube. Foundations, Working Safely + Prompting, and the complete Selection Reporter build, where you finish with a real working tool. Watch them and you'll know exactly what the course is before spending a euro.

Can I buy this through my company? What about VAT?

Yes, and most people do. Prices are shown excluding VAT. At checkout there is a field for a company VAT number: enter a valid EU one and you pay €359 with no VAT added - the reverse-charge rule, which you account for in your own VAT return as usual. Without a VAT number, your country's rate is added (€441.57 in Poland at 23%).

One thing worth checking first: your VAT number has to be registered for EU transactions and visible in VIES, which is a separate registration from a plain domestic one. If it does not validate at checkout, VAT is added - so check it before you buy rather than after. A proper invoice is issued automatically either way by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record.

Can I get a refund?

Everything is delivered the moment you pay - all 15 lessons, plus a code library watermarked to you personally. Because that's digital content supplied immediately, completing checkout means asking for instant access and agreeing that this ends the 14-day right of withdrawal you'd otherwise have as an EU or UK consumer. So I don't offer refunds once access has been granted.

That's precisely why three full lessons are free, and why I'd rather you watched them first: buy on the strength of what you've already seen, not on a promise. And if something genuinely goes wrong - the lessons won't play, your library never arrived, you were charged twice - email greg@constructivegreg.com and I'll put it right.

Who am I buying from - and can I put this through the company?

Checkout is handled by Lemon Squeezy, who act as the merchant of record for the sale. Practically, that means Lemon Squeezy takes the payment, applies the correct VAT or sales tax for your country, and issues the invoice - so you can pay by card or PayPal, enter a company VAT number if you have one, and hand the invoice straight to accounts. Billing and invoice questions go to Lemon Squeezy; anything about the course itself comes to me.

The first 20 builders lock in €359 + VAT. Then it's €449 + VAT - for good.

This isn't a discount. It's the reward for being first.
